The archive itself

The archive is not the CPA: it holds what was posted on its website and what was released later. It has dated documents on 440 days of the CPA period, 2,405 undated documents, 1 silences (21+ days) with no order, regulation or memorandum.

Every day of the CPA: how many dated documents we hold

Public dated documents per day · empty days are days we hold nothing from, not days without work.

Where dates are missing

Share of undated documents in each section (sections with 20+ documents).

1

Established

The longest legislative silence: 21 days between 2003-10-14 (ORD-043) and 2003-11-04 (MEM-007). Absence from the archive does not mean nothing was issued.

ORD-043 MEM-007

2

Established

21 questions on date and text integrity: an official date that differs between Arabic and English or between copies, revised files, and orders without a readable dated code.

3

Open question

What was never posted on the CPA’s website? The archive sees what was published and released, not what stayed in the drawers.

Method, confidence and limits

We compare the official code date in the Arabic and English texts and across a document’s copies, and against the earliest preserved file date (including Internet Archive captures); we flag files whose names describe them as revised or amended, and orders without a readable dated code.

Periods with no dated order, regulation or memorandum in the archive (21 days or more), numbered documents that other documents cite but we do not hold, and topics present in press releases but rare in the orders. Absence from the archive does not mean non-existence.
