DEPLOYED CIVILIANS IN SUPPORT OF OP TELIC
PUS was grateful for your minute of 31 March on this. He regards 156 civilians as a significant number for deployed personnel, notwithstanding that just over half that number are Royal Fleet Auxiliaries. PUS attaches importance to ensuring that we are in a position to provide proper support for families in these circumstances and was glad to note that a specific coordination cell has been established. He hopes that this will pay attention to the morale dimensions, in addition to the training tasks mentioned.

PUS still awaits advice on the arrangements for dealing with any civilian deaths as a result of TELIC and would be grateful if this could be worked on as a matter of urgency.
