Public Service Announcement – Citizens urged not to park on main streets
May 8, 2003
We appeal to the gentlemen who own passenger vehicles which are used for citizen transport in Baghdad and the surrounding provinces to come to the garages owned by the Public Corporation for the Management of Private Transportation – which belongs to the Ministry of Transport and Transportation – and to continue to drive them along the pre-existing routes and according to the same driving regulations that applied previously. Instead of parking in the main streets – thus causing traffic congestion in these streets – they should cooperate with the employees of the company who work in its garages and continue to provide services for the general public.
We also appeal to the men who have unlawfully occupied the company's garages to leave them and return them to the control of the company.
We hope that everyone will commit himself to this appeal. Anyone who violates this directive will bring upon himself legal action.
With our appreciation and respect, The Director General of Private Transport and Employees of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
