Engineering crews have been working all day to repair the damage. Water supply is expected to be restored later this evening. Faris Abdul Razaq Al-Aasam Deputy Mayor of Baghdad said: "Ordinarily it would take 36 hrs to restore the water supply after a break of this sort but the dedicated work of city employees means that I expect water to be restored by late this evening."
