PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 6 July 03 The Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) will undertake the monthly payment of emergency pay to former Iraqi military personnel to include former POWs and their families and to MIAs who used to work in the Ministry of Defense. This is an interim program subject to review by the CPA and to a decision by the future Iraqi government whether to continue the stipends, and if so, on what terms. Payment will begin on Tuesday, 15 July in the following cities: · Kirkuk · Mosul · Ramadi · Baghdad · Diwania · Al-Nassariah · Basrah Hours of operation will be from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, except on Fridays, for the following categories as follows: Officers and Officer POWs Rank Date BG and above 15 July COL 16 July LTC 17 July MAJ 19 July CPT 20 July 1LT 21 July 2LT 22 July Enlisted and enlisted POWs according to the alphabetical listing of their names as follows: 1 st Letter of Name 2 nd Letter of Name Date a through b 23 July c 24 July d 26 July e through h 27 July i through l 28 July m a through f 29 July m g through z 30 July n through y 31 July z 02 August One make-up day will be offered on Sunday, 3 August. The amount of pay will be according to the following pay scale: Rank Amount LTG $150.00 BG-MG $120.00 LTC-COL $100.00 2LT-MAJ $80.00 WO $50.00 NCOs $50.00 There will be a free distribution of information forms that must be filled out completely and correctly. The forms will be in Arabic except for the ID card number that will be in both English and Arabic. This form will include a statement denouncing any former or future involvement in the Ba’ath Party it and must be signed. Also, bring your bank account information with you. This information may be used in the future to distribute future payments. The payment will be for all military officer and enlisted personnel in actual service up to 16 April including the Republican Guard and all other organizations except the following: · Udw Firqa and above · Special Republican Guard · Special Security Guard · The Directorate of Military Intelligence · Murafiqin · Fedayeen Saddam · National Olympic Committee · Senior Advisors to Saddam Hussein Without your military ID card, you will not be allowed to enter the pay site. The following ID cards are required: Military ID card (any of the four types) Civilian ID card Ministry of Trade ID card (may substitute for the Civilian ID card) There will be a review of all people who get paid. Anyone who is caught coming to receive payment more than once during any pay cycle will be taken off the list for all future payments. Absolutely no weapons will be allowed on the pay site.
