The Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction is required by law to provide a Quarterly Report to the U.S. Congress not later than 30 days following the end of each fiscal-year quarter to the appropriate committees of the Congress. This report is to summarize the activities of the Inspector General and the activities under the programs and operations funded by the Iraq Relief and Reconstruction Fund.
SIGIR is also required by law to provide semiannual reports to meet the requirements of Inspector General Act of 1978, on January 31 and July 31 of each year. These semiannual reports are combined with SIGIR Quarterly Reports due in January and July. Quarterly and semiannual reports are found under "Reports to Congress." The results of audits conducted by the SIGIR are provided in this section under "Audit Reports." This section will generally include reports of audits conducted that include recommendations. When an audit does not result in recommendations by the auditor, a "memorandum report" is released. Audits subjects are selected according to the SIGIR Audit Plan . The current plan covers SIGIR priorities for 2005-2006.
SIGIR publishes other reports of interest under the heading "Other Reports." These may include reports by other agencies as required by Congress.
Each section includes the respective reports by the Inspector General of the Coalition Provisional Authority, the predecessor to SIGIR.
Please address inquiries regarding these reports to SIGIR Public Affairs by e-mail or to 703-428-1100.
