CONDUCT A SEARCH OF A VEHICLE FOR EXPLOSIVES OR PROHIBITED ITEMS W 106 Conduct a Vehicle Search for Explosives or Prohibited Items Look for any indications of anything that doesn’t seem to match the condition of the rest of the vehicle. Condition of drive shaft does not match undercarriage, driver claimed no recent work done to vehicle Note the drive shaft compared to the U joint. Things to look for: Recent work done to chassis, body, or engine Parts that do not match the condition of vehicle in question Floors or cargo area that look shallower than normal W 106 Things to look for: Bolts that have been replaced Glue or Bondo in areas that normally would not require this Large amount of trash or items in vehicle that may impede view of the interior Leaking fluids Clean areas Welding W 106 EXTERIOR FRONT Are the lights working Has the grill been modified No access to front bumper cavity ( Solid bumper should raise suspicion ) W 106 ENGINE COMPARTMENT Battery Fuse box Alternator area Hoses Windshield fluid container W 106 EXTERIOR SIDES Check for new welds, taped items or fresh paint Check for objects in fuel tank tube W 106 TIRES Does it sound solid Strange odor from air valve New tires Unusually clean or dirty lug nuts or hub caps when compared to the other tires W 106 EXTERIOR REAR Lights working?
